THE QUEST FOR SOCKS

OK, are you ready for some more of Macy's thoughts? The other morning, I asked her to get a pair of CLEAN socks to put on before school. She comes back with two socks that clearly don't match and says, "Mom, I could only find random socks." What six year old knows the word "random" and when have mismatched socks become random socks? I love it! She never ceases to amaze me. Then, this morning, we were getting out a couple of Christmas items to start putting out. She pulled out a sleeping Santa that we've had as long as she remembers and she argued that it was Mrs. Claus because she had lip gloss on. It couldn't possibly be Santa. It WAS Santa with his lips painted. She was SURE it was Mrs. Clause because of her red lip gloss. Keep 'em comin', Macy Moo!

TURKEY TROT

We supported the American Red Cross today by participating in the Turkey Trot. Christian and Caden ran the 5K with Adam Smith and his two boys while I walked the 1 mile with my girls, sister-in-law Julina, and Leslie Hickman and her daughter Kammi. It was really neat to see the community come out in large numbers with a common goal. Ken had to work. Next year, I'm planning on running the 5K with my boys.

MY FUN WEEK

What a fun birthday week I had! Here's my week in pictures.

I had a pajama birthday party at Kristie's house. Each person wrote a special note to me and I cried as I read them, of course! Kristie had an amazing dinner and Leslie H made 3 incredible desserts. More pictures to follow after I get them. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time!

My dad and I at Red Lobster on our actual birthday for dinner. I love you, Dad!
Kristie and I met Lynette at work for lunch. We miss hanging with you Lynette!
Ken and I drove to Ceour d'Lane Idaho and stayed one night at the resort.
This was our dinner at the fancy restaurant on the top floor. The food was amazing. Our meal was $150 but we had a gift certificate so it didn't cost us a thing. That's probably why it tasted so good! THanks to all my family and friends who made turning 34 so special!!

COOLEST CAKE EVER

Is this not the coolest cake ever? Ken ordered this for me. One of our gals at Dermacare does cake decorating on the side...so if you ever need a cool cake, I've got connections! I was born on my dad's birthday. In my 34 years, I believe we've only had 1 birthday we haven't spent together. I love my dad dearly! His name is Lester....thus myself being Leslie. Sunday night we celebrated with the family. Happy Birthday, today, Dad! I love you!

NEW FAMILY PICTURES

Every year we have a family picture taken (usually a snapshot) for our Christmas cards. Well, most people don't have our new address so I have to get my cards out early with our new address on them. After church, we changed and went to our neighboring apple orchard and took pictures. Kristie Hebdon played photographer for the family shot. Good job, Kris! My kids sure are growing up!

MY FAVORITE VETERAN

To most, Veteran's Day is simply a day when kids are home from school and we must find some way to entertain... especially on a windy and rainy day like today. It's true...I will doing that exact same thing. However, it holds much more significance for me. I grew up moving from military base to military base and don't remember having lived "off base" until I was a sophomore in high school. To this day, I can't hear the Star Spangled Banner without crying even if it's just a little t-ball game. My father, Lester Sousley, is a retired officer in the Air Force and spent his career in the air flying planes. Lt. Col. Lester Sousley, is my favorite veteran. My dad flew C-130's during the Vietnam war and I am thankful for to him and all other veterans for their service to our country. THank you, Grandpa for serving in World War II, thanks Sidney Smith, for serving in Iraq.....and thanks to all who are currently serving.

Happy Birthday, Ken!

My handsome man is 39 today!!! Happy Birthday to Ken! I feel extremely blessed to have such a great partner. I definitely married above myself. Ken is a great dad, extremely patient and kind, very hard worker, smart, and loves ME ME ME ME ME! This picture was taken this past spring on our cruise to Mexico. It seems like we don't get pictures taken together alone unless we're on a trip!

KEN AND CHRISTIAN....HUNTERS

Ken, Christian, Erik, and Alyssa spent 6 days in Idaho hunting. They saw lots of great things...the coolest being a mountain lion stalking its prey. The big boys each brought home a buck so they were happy. Sorry, I don't know much about hunting to tell more! I should have Ken type this. More pictures to follow....
