INSOMNIA...HELP!

It's 1:25 am and I can't sleep. I've already been to sleep but apparently my body is only needing about one hour of sleep tonight. What's up with that? I've noticed lately that when I have an opportunity to sleep in, I sleep worse than when I have to get up on a normal day at 6 am. Well, I do have to get up at 6 am so I'd really like to sleep! So, I'm laying in bed wondering....what do people DO when they can't sleep? What do you do? Obviously, I blog and pray I don't post something stupid that I'll regret in the morning.....

I had insomnia for years and I would clean the house, scrapbook and watch movies almost every night til 3 am (it was the magical hour I could go to sleep)Since working out, once my head hits the pillow I am out, However, saturday night I pulled an all nighter too. It sucks when you want to sleep and can't! TYLENOL PM works great too.

You're funny. Try reading something boring, or watch tv, clean the house, put on some very soothing music like Enya or nature sounds like rain, the ocean, a storm or even crickets. I use to go to sleep to music like that all the time. Also take an over the counter sleeping aid called Unisome, I took it when I was pregnant, it's awesome. It's what I took right before my water broke and that's why I slept through my laboring. I swear by it. Very Good drug!

I clean house, sorry to say I have been sleeping great latly so my house is pretty messy. Maybe I should caffinate to stay up late and clean! Sorry you are missing some zzz's

The things that helps me go back to sleep are things I don't like to do, try paying bills, or light housework. And yes, be aware that during the later hours judgment is not as good. Have you ever watched SNL during the day? It's just not as funny when our judgement is not impaired by lack of sleep.

You are great! Ok you would think a Tylenol PM would help. I have been so sick for a week and I can only sleep about 4 hours and then it is like I am totally wide awake. What is up with that!I took one last night but the same thing happened. So I guess my answer is for some reason the Lord wants me to be awake and learn or do something. I sure do get alot done but in the morning when the kids get up I am ready for bed. Good luck to you! By the way I love the hair and hope you win! Just something my brothers say to me not sure what it means!

I tried unisom a while back and it worked (only a 1/2). I only took it for a week and stopped, it says is non-habit forming (it's over the counter) but I still didn't want to get used taking a pill to sleep. I haven't had a problem since! I think what also works for me is that I work till 2-3am, and my job is not a sit down at an office all day, so by the time I get home I'm Exhausted!! my head hits the pillow and I'm out, but I only work 7 days a month, and the days I'm off I sleep alot trying to catch up, which is good. If that doesn't work try...baking jaja
